However, “lower-risk” is not the same as “no risk”. So, it is of the utmost importance for those involved in non-licensed asbestos removal work – such as maintenance workers, demolition workers, and supervisors/managers – to receive the training that will enable them to deal with such materials responsibly and safely.
• Asbestos “duty to manage” training. CAR 2012, the overarching asbestos legislation in the UK, puts in place a “duty to manage” asbestos at non-domestic premises. This type of training provides vital introductory information on the “duty to manage” to dutyholders and appointed persons. This, in turn, will enable such individuals to better understand and comply with their legal responsibilities.
