A notoriously carcinogenic substance, but also one that was hugely widely used in the UK for generations – including in the construction of many buildings in and around Norwich – asbestos continues to pose risks to human health today. This is despite the fact that it has not been legal to import and use this naturally occurring mineral in the UK since 1999.
You may be reading this as a key decision-maker for a company or organisation in Norwich with employees who may be liable to come into contact with asbestos as part of their day-to-day duties.
If so, you might be reassured to learn that Oracle Solutions is a widely respected provider of asbestos training courses in the Norwich and Norfolk areas, approved by the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Not only that, but all our UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA) courses are Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certified.
Whether you require asbestos awareness training, non-licensable asbestos removal training, or “duty to manage” training to help you and/or your workers comply with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012), we can provide tailored solutions.
This may involve us delivering face-to-face classroom-based training or even online training, depending on what you would prefer.

We can provide three crucial types of asbestos training in Norwich
We love Norwich here at Oracle Solutions – demonstrated in part by the fact that our office for the east of England is situated in the city!
So, we are well-accustomed to helping commercial clients in and around Norwich – including across such areas as the city centre, Aylsham, Taverham, Hethersett, Mundesley, and many more – to deal with a broad range of asbestos situations.
One challenge that your Norwich or Norfolk organisation might have, is the need to ensure your workers receive proven high-quality asbestos training, from a fully accredited course provider.
Ensuring this will help make sure your workers make the most informed decisions whenever and wherever there are asbestos-related risks, thereby achieving legal compliance and the highest possible safety standards.
To that end, we offer three main types of asbestos training here at Oracle Solutions:
- Category A (Cat A) asbestos awareness training. This form of training isn’t aimed at workers who have a specific intention of removing or otherwise disturbing asbestos. Instead, it is designed for people – such as electricians, plumbers, and gasfitters – whose work could conceivably cause asbestos disturbance and/or exposure due to the fabric of a given building being disturbed.
- Category B (Cat B) asbestos non-licensed removal and refresher training. Certain lower-risk asbestos removal tasks can be carried out without the need for a licence from the HSE. However, “lower-risk” is not the same as “no risk”. So, it is of the utmost importance for those involved in non-licensed asbestos removal work – such as maintenance workers, demolition workers, and supervisors/managers – to receive the training that will enable them to deal with such materials responsibly and safely.
- Asbestos “duty to manage” training. CAR 2012, the overarching asbestos legislation in the UK, puts in place a “duty to manage” asbestos at non-domestic premises. This type of training provides vital introductory information on the “duty to manage” to dutyholders and appointed persons. This, in turn, will enable such individuals to better understand and comply with their legal responsibilities.

What are the other reasons to make Oracle Solutions your chosen asbestos training provider?
As well as HSE approval, CPD certification, and the formidable range of asbestos training courses that we make available, our team gives you options in terms of how the course content is delivered to you and/or your personnel.
If it suits your Norwich or Norfolk company and your team members, you can arrange to visit our UKATA-accredited training centre, situated 10 minutes away from our Kettering office. However, we also offer virtual live online training, and we can even arrange to come to your organisation’s own premises to provide the training, if you would favour this.
Whatever way we deliver your requested asbestos training, you can be sure that it will comprise all the legally required content. Furthermore, once the learner has successfully completed the course, they will receive an HSE-recognised certificate.
Another crucial aspect of our service as an asbestos training specialist catering to the Norwich area, is that our experts delivering the courses genuinely love what they do. They are great believers in the importance of asbestos training, and they are highly skilled at presenting the course content in interesting and insightful ways.
With us, asbestos is far from a “dry”, dull subject!
What is ‘refresher’ asbestos training, and when is it needed?
A “refresher” asbestos training course is very much what it sounds like; a course that “refreshes” the learner’s previously acquired asbestos knowledge.
Regulation 10 of CAR 2012 – addressing information, instruction, and training for the management of asbestos – makes clear that asbestos refresher training should be undertaken at least once a year. In fact, refresher training will need to be provided more frequently than this in certain circumstances, such as if changes are made to work methods or the type of equipment used to control asbestos exposure.
Please feel free to contact the Oracle Solutions team to find out more about the asbestos refresher training that we can provide to you and/or your staff in or close to Norwich.
What does it mean if an asbestos training course is CPD certified?
As we referenced above, all our UKATA asbestos training courses are entirely CPD certified. The initialism stands for “Continuing Professional Development”, while the term “CPD certified” relates to the CPD Certification Service.
We have previously written about what this means; in summary, our asbestos training courses being CPD certified means you can be sure of them adhering to the highest quality standards. It is just one more reason, then, why you might opt for Oracle Solutions as your company’s asbestos training specialist, wherever you are in or around Norwich.
